3-Day Pre-Symposium Workshop

Join Colleen Miniuk-SperryGuy Tal and Bruce Hucko for 3 energized and potent days of image-making and creative discussion. Colleen, Guy and Bruce have formed an earnest and playful bond as photographers, educators and friends. They also share a strong understanding of the creative process that they enjoy sharing. While each of them talks to the same subject they do so in their own unique ways.

This workshop offers you the opportunity to work very closely with 3 skilled photographers as you explore the creative process of fine art landscape photography from conceptualizing photographs through presentation. This workshop is for the serious photographer who really wants to push their image making to new creative and technical heights. It’s not a race, but it is intensive. Think 16/3 instead of 24/7.

The workshop features lectures, demos, work sessions, critiques, conversation and field trips to locations known to the instructors for their great image potential and diversity. This means we’ll take you to some really cool places where we can really work! We will visit Arches NP, Canyonlands NP and specially selected BLM lands. This workshop features a day trip to the Needles District of Canyonlands NP.

This workshop begins on Sunday afternoon, April 29 with a light meal/beer/soft drink reception, introductory discussion and a short field session.  It concludes on Wednesday evening with a slide show and a final field session/reception.

Participants should bring their laptop and a small portfolio of images to share (print or projected). Participants should be very familiar with their own equipment and have a sturdy tripod as much field education occurs at your viewfinder. Participants will receive a detailed schedule, questionnaire and other materials upon registration.

You DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER for the symposium to attend this workshop. Please see the instructions on the registration page in order to sign up.  This WORKSHOP is LIMITED TO 15 PARTICIPANTS.
